Recording fuel & charging

Available in: 📱 App · 💻 Web portal

With fuel entries you keep track of fuel amounts and costs — and RideBase calculates your consumption from them. For electric vehicles it works exactly the same with charging sessions (kWh).

Creating a fuel entry

  1. Open the vehicle and tap + or Add Entry
  2. Choose Refuel — the Charge/Refuel entry opens
  3. Check date and time (prefilled with now)
  4. Enter the Mileage (optional, but important for the consumption calculation; for vehicles with an operating hours counter: Operating hours)
  5. For each fuel type, enter the Amount and optionally the Costs (€)
  6. Optionally add Notes and attachments (e.g. the fuel receipt as a photo)
  7. Save with the checkmark

Fuel types and units

Which fields appear in the fuel entry depends on the fuel types you've set up in the vehicle settings:

Fuel typeUnit
Gasolineliters
Dieselliters
ElectrickWh
CNGkg
LPGliters
AdBlueliters

For hybrid vehicles with multiple fuel types, you can record e.g. gasoline and electricity in a single entry — each fuel type has its own amount and cost fields. At least one amount must be entered.

:::info Fuel types missing? If the app shows the "Fuel types missing" notice, first set up your vehicle's fuel types in the vehicle settings. :::

Consumption calculation

RideBase calculates your consumption (L/100 km) from your fuel entries — this requires the amount filled up and the distance driven between fuel stops. So when refueling, try to always enter the mileage as well.

You'll see the consumption in your vehicle's Statistics tab: in the app in the Fuel consumption chart, in the web portal in the Verbrauch (consumption) chart (L/100 km per fuel stop). More under Statistics & insights.

Editing and deleting

Tap the entry in the Timeline to open it. Use the pencil or trash icon to edit (Edit Charge/Refuel) or delete it.

In the web portal

In the web portal at web.ridebase.app, you'll find the same Eintrag hinzufügen (add entry) → Tanken (refuel) button at the bottom right of the vehicle. The fields match the app; the Kilometerstand (mileage) is a required field here.
