Keeping track of costs
Available in: ๐ฑ App ยท ๐ป Web portal
There's no separate costs section in RideBase โ you record costs directly on the entries they belong to. That way, every expense stays linked to the matching event (fuel stop, workshop visit).
Which entries record costsโ
| Entry type | Cost field |
|---|---|
| Refuel | costs per fuel type (e.g. gasoline, diesel, electric) |
| Service/Maintenance | a Costs field for the entire workshop visit or job |
You create entries in the app and in the web portal via Add Entry on the vehicle.
- How to record fuel stops: Recording fuel & charging.
- How to log workshop visits and repairs: Creating a service entry.
Where you see your costsโ
- Timeline: in your vehicle's Timeline tab, all entries appear chronologically โ with the recorded costs in each entry's detail view.
- Statistics: the Statistics tab evaluates your fuel entries, including the consumption chart; the web portal additionally has the Kraftstoffkosten (fuel costs) chart with the total for the selected period. More under Statistics & insights.
Documenting the acquisitionโ
The acquisition of your vehicle is its own milestone at the start of the timeline (Purchased). Tapping it opens Record acquisition or Edit acquisition with:
- date and time of the acquisition
- Mileage at acquisition (or Operating hours at acquisition)
- Notes โ e.g. dealer, previous owner, condition
- attachments, such as the purchase contract as a photo or PDF
:::tip Receipts always at hand You can attach photos and documents to any entry โ so fuel receipts and workshop invoices stay right with the matching event. More about files on the vehicle: Documents & files. :::
