Creating a service entry
Available in: ๐ฑ App ยท ๐ป Web portal
With service entries you document maintenance, inspections, and repairs โ with tasks, spare parts, costs, and receipts.
How to create an entryโ
- Open the vehicle and tap + or Add Entry
- Choose Service/Maintenance
- Enter the date, time, and odometer reading โ a tap on "Last reading: โฆ โ apply" takes over the current reading (for vehicles without a counter, the reading is calculated automatically from the trips)
- Choose a category (multiple selection): Maintenance, Inspection, Repair, Main Inspection, Restoration, Other
- Add tasks and spare parts (see below)
- Optional: notes, workshop (free text), and costs (total amount in โฌ)
- Attach receipts, photos, or documents
- Save with the checkmark
Selecting tasksโ
In the "Search for a task or add your own..." field, RideBase suggests matching jobs. Small badges show where they come from โ a tap on the info icon opens the badge explanation:
| Badge | Meaning |
|---|---|
| Std | Standard tasks & parts for most vehicle types |
| MS | Model-specific โ tailored to your vehicle model |
| SP | Taken over from your service plan |
| C | Tasks or parts you entered yourself |
You add your own tasks by simply typing them in and confirming.
Completing a service plan along the wayโ
If you select a service plan as a task (badge SP), it's automatically reset when you save โ the entry's date and odometer reading count as the last service. If the plan includes spare parts, the "Apply spare parts?" dialog asks whether they should be taken over into the entry. For plans with a fixed date, you set the next due date in the New due date field.
Recording spare partsโ
In the "Search for a spare part or add your own..." field you pick parts from the catalog โ after selecting, RideBase asks for the quantity. Via Custom spare part you record any part with name, quantity, and unit.
Editing and deletingโ
Open the entry in the Timeline: the pencil icon takes you to Edit Service/Maintenance, the trash icon deletes the entry.
:::info Entries made by your workshop If a workshop created the entry on a shared vehicle, you'll see it as a workshop service. Such entries are a record kept by the workshop: you can view and delete them, but not edit them. :::
