Service plans

Available in: ๐Ÿ“ฑ App ยท ๐Ÿ’ป Web portal

Service plans are recurring maintenance tasks โ€” e.g. an oil change every 10,000 km or the main inspection every 2 years. RideBase continuously calculates when they're due and reminds you in time.

Creating a service planโ€‹

  1. Open the vehicle โ†’ Service Plans tab โ†’ Create Service Plan
  2. Enter a task or pick one from the suggestions (e.g. "Main inspection")
  3. Set when it's due: Interval or Fixed date (see below)
  4. Optionally add spare parts โ€” they'll be offered to you when executing the plan
  5. Optionally add notes and save

Interval or fixed date?โ€‹

Intervalโ€‹

  • Interval (km) โ€” e.g. every 10,000 km (for vehicles with an operating hours counter: Interval (h))
  • Time interval with the unit Days, Weeks, Months, or Years
  • Both can be combined: whichever comes first is due

So RideBase can do the math, you provide the last service: Date of last service and Odometer reading at last service (or Operating hours at last service). If the job has never been done, tap Never โ€” RideBase then calculates from the vehicle's starting reading and acquisition date.

Fixed dateโ€‹

For things due on a fixed date (e.g. the expiry of your first-aid kit): pick the date under Due on and use Advance warning (days before) to set how early the traffic light turns yellow (default: 30 days).

Due-date display (traffic light)โ€‹

The app and the web portal show a progress bar with traffic-light colors per plan:

ColorMeaning
GreenAll within range โ€” e.g. "in 1,250 km" or "in 90 days"
YellowDue soon โ€” from 90% of the interval or within the advance-warning period
RedOverdue โ€” e.g. "overdue by 12 days"

The calculation always uses your vehicle's current odometer reading โ€” so keep it up to date (see Odometer reading).

Marking as doneโ€‹

Open a plan's menu and choose Execute Now: a new service entry opens with the plan preselected as a task. When you save, the last service is set to the entry's date and odometer reading โ€” the traffic light starts over. For fixed dates, you set the New due date in the process.

It works the same way in reverse: if you select the plan as a task in a service entry, it's automatically completed along with it.

History, editing, deletingโ€‹

In a plan's menu you'll also find:

  • History โ€” the service history of all entries this plan was completed with
  • Edit โ€” change the interval, task, and spare parts
  • Delete โ€” removes the plan (the service entries are kept)

:::info Seasonal break During a seasonal break, RideBase doesn't send reminders for the vehicle โ€” but the due-date display keeps running as usual. :::
