Documents, photos & receipts
Available in: π± App Β· π» Web portal
Registration, insurance policy, workshop invoice, fuel receipt: in RideBase you store documents and photos right on the vehicle β either attached to an entry or as a standalone document.
Uploading a document or photo (app)β
- Open the vehicle, tap "+" ("Add Entry")
- Choose "Document / Photo"
- Enter the date and, optionally, a description
- Add files in the "Attachments" section:
- "Take photo" β straight from the camera
- "Photos from gallery" β one or more images
- "Add documents" β PDF files
- You can give each file a "Label" and tags (tags can be applied to all files)
- Save β the entry appears in the timeline
Photos are automatically downsized when uploading, so the upload finishes quickly.
Receipts on entriesβ
You'll find the same "Attachments" section in almost every entry β so a receipt stays right with the event it belongs to:
- the invoice on a service entry
- the receipt on a fuel entry
- a dashboard photo on an odometer reading
- photos on individual trips
The "Files" tabβ
The "Files" tab in the vehicle view collects all of the vehicle's attachments from every entry and trip in one place. There you can:
- search by file name
- filter by tags
- switch the sort order (by event date, date added, or alphabetically)
Tapping a file opens it in the preview.
:::info Shared vehicles For vehicles shared with you with driver permission only, the "Files" tab is not available. :::
Vehicle photoβ
You can give your vehicle a profile picture: in the vehicle settings, tap the vehicle image and choose "Camera" or "Gallery". The picture appears on the home screen and in the vehicle view.
In the web portalβ
In the web portal the upload works the same way via "Eintrag hinzufΓΌgen" β "Dokument / Foto" (add entry β document/photo) β plus you can simply drag & drop files onto the vehicle page ("Fotos oder PDFs hierher ziehen oder klicken Β· max. 10 MB je Datei" β drag photos or PDFs here or click Β· max. 10 MB per file).
The "Dateien" (files) tab there offers filters ("Alle Dateien" (all files), "Nur Bilder" (images only), "Nur Dokumente" (documents only)), a filter by the associated entry, a selectable sort order, and a list/tile view. Clicking a file opens the preview β from there you can jump straight to the associated timeline entry.
