Team & roles in the Workshop Portal

Available in: πŸ’» Workshop Portal on web.ridebase.app

Under "Team" you manage your workshop's members. All members can see the shared customer vehicles β€” what they may do with them is determined by their role.

Inviting a member

  1. Open "Team" and click "Mitglied einladen" (invite member) β€” only for the "Inhaber" (owner) and "Werkstattleiter" (workshop manager)
  2. Enter the "E-Mail-Adresse" (email address) and choose the "Rolle" (role)
  3. Click "Einladen" (invite)

If the person already has a RideBase account, they receive the invitation directly in the app and on the web. Otherwise they get an email with a registration link β€” the account can be created right in the browser (no app needed), and the invitation is assigned automatically. You can see pending invitations in the "Offene E-Mail-Einladungen" (pending email invitations) section and delete them there via "Einladung zurΓΌckziehen" (withdraw invitation).

The roles

RoleIn short
"Inhaber" (owner)Requested the workshop β€” always has the same rights as a workshop manager
"Werkstattleiter" (workshop manager)Full rights incl. deleting, managing staff and business details
"Mechaniker" (mechanic)Creates and edits service entries, manages components
"Service-Assistent" (service assistant)Plans appointments/service plans and views customer vehicles β€” without service entries

Rights in detail

You can also show this overview in the invite dialog via "Welche Rechte hat welche Rolle?" (which rights does which role have?):

Good to know:

  • The "Inhaber" has the same rights as a "Werkstattleiter" everywhere
  • Components count like service entries: creating/mounting is allowed for workshop managers and mechanics, deleting only for workshop managers
  • Executing a service plan counts as "creating a service entry" and is therefore also allowed for mechanics
  • Customer and vehicle data can never be edited by anyone in the workshop β€” it belongs to the customer

Changing a role

The "Inhaber" and "Werkstattleiter" can change a member's role directly in the member list via the dropdown. The owner's role and your own role can't be changed.

Removing a member

  1. In the member list, click the trash icon next to the member
  2. Confirm the "Mitglied entfernen?" (remove member?) dialog with "Entfernen" (remove)

The person then loses access to the Workshop Portal.
